There have been many crazy viral challenges all over social media platforms nowdays. These are some of the most viral ones:

  1. Mannequin Challenge

Mannequin Challenge has been said to be the best Challenge to sweep the internet in 2016 as it got people from different backgrounds and levels of society to participate, including Hillary Clinton, Destiny’s child, Cristiano Ronaldo, etc. This challenge was originated in October 2016 by a group of teenagers in The USA who posed like a mannequin while recorded with music by Rae Sremmurd’s Black Beatles featuring Gucci Manein playing in the background. The challenge, however, didn’t start as the promo for the hip hop duo as they got involved only on the last weekend after the challenge emerged.

  1. Running man Challenge

Running Man Challenge is another addictive internet trend created by two basketball players form University of Maryland, Jaylen Brantley and Jared Nickens. The challenge incorporates a well-known dance move of an old '90s hit song called "My Boo" by Ghost Town DJ's.

  1. ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is done by dumping a bucket of ice and water over somebody’s head in order to raise people’s awareness of ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) disease and fund the research. Around $115 million has been raised from the challenge, which became viral because a person doing the challenge has to tag three other people. 

  1. Cinnamon Challenge

This is a food challenge to film someone trying to eat a spoonful of ground cinnamon in one minute. What makes this challenge hard is that the cinnamon coats and dries the mouth which causes a person to cough, gag even vomit. This challenge is pretty harmful because it can cause a permanent lung damage.

  1. Salt and Ice Challenge

Salt and ice challenge is done by putting salt somewhere over the body, usually the arm, then put ice on the salt. Many people enjoyed doing it without even know that this challenge has a high risk on our health as it can cause burning.

  1. Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge

This is another viral but harmful challenge that people are being warned against as it’s possible to do so much anatomical damage. The challenge is done by inserting lips into a shot glass, small jar or bottle, then sucking out the air to create vacuum. The lips are expected to be as pouty and sexy as Kylie Jenner’s. The results, however, range from gross to horrifying. Sucking the air out of the glass can create friction, swelling and bruising.

  1. Condom Challenge

There were two different kinds of condom challenge, both of which were done in different ways. The former emerged in 2013 by snorting a condom through nasal cavity and into the back of the throat while the latter was in 2015 done by filling a condom with water then dropping it onto somebody’s head.  

  1. The Collarbone Challenge

This is a body shaming trend originated in China which requires a woman to place coins in her collarbones to show how sexy and skinny she is. The challenge claims that more coins a woman can hold, the better her figure is.

  1. Om Telolet Challenge

Following the invasion of “Om Telolet Om” phrase in the net world, people started to do Om Telolet Challenge by standing by the side of the road, alone or in groups, trying to be as creative as possible in asking a bus driver passing by to honk the horn. Originated in Indonesia, this challenge has been widespread all over the world.

  1. Bus Challenge

First done in Indonesia, Bus Challenge had gone viral in other countries. This challenge is done by parodying a bus driver’s careless driving that causes topsy turvy passengers. It became popular in a net world after a group of Indonesian high school students posted a video on YouTube. The video was so hilarious that it encouraged many other people to imitate it.
